After a dramatic weekend at Zandvoort, the championship heads to one of the fastest, most historic and most passionate stops on the calendar — Monza and the Italian Grand Prix!
Join the Twin Cities Formula 1 Club on Sunday, September 6th at Fat Pants Brewing Co. in Eden Prairie as we watch the action live from the legendary “Temple of Speed.”
The championship picture continues to get more interesting. Lando Norris arrives at Monza riding the momentum of back-to-back victories, including an action-packed win at Zandvoort. Meanwhile, Kimi Antonelli extended his championship lead to 59 points with a second-place finish in the Netherlands, setting the stage for an especially intriguing homecoming in Italy.
Antonelli will have the Italian crowd behind him as he chases Italy’s first Formula 1 World Drivers’ Championship since Alberto Ascari in 1953, but there’s a twist: the championship leader is set to take at least a 10-place grid penalty at Monza following an engine change. At a circuit famous for massive speeds, heavy braking and overtaking opportunities, watching Antonelli fight his way through the field could make this one of the most entertaining races of the season.
And, of course, Monza means Ferrari. The Tifosi will be out in force as Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc look to give the home crowd something to celebrate in red.
