After an absolutely wild afternoon at Monza, Formula 1 heads straight to Spain, and we’re getting together at Millrace Motor Club to watch it all live.
If you missed the Italian Grand Prix, you missed one for the history books. Kimi Antonelli started all the way back in 19th and somehow came through the field to win his home Grand Prix, hunting down Mercedes teammate George Russell in the closing stages and sending the Italian crowd into a frenzy. The victory made Antonelli the first Italian driver to win at Monza in 60 years, and further strengthened his lead in the World Championship.
Now, just one week later, the entire grid heads into the unknown. For the first time, Formula 1 arrives at MADRING, the brand-new circuit in Madrid and the new home of the Spanish Grand Prix. With a completely new track, no previous race data and 22 drivers trying to figure it out at the same time, there are plenty of opportunities for another unpredictable race.
Can Antonelli carry his incredible momentum from Monza into Madrid? Can George Russell answer back after watching the win slip away in Italy? Can Verstappen, McLaren or Ferrari spoil the Mercedes party? And who will be the first driver to master F1’s newest circuit?
We’ll find out Sunday morning, September 13th, when the Twin Cities Formula 1 Club returns to Millrace Motor Club!
Doors open at 7:30am, giving everyone a chance to grab a spot, check out the cars and settle in before the lights go out in Madrid at 8:00am.
Beyond the race, attendees can check out Millrace’s collection of sports and collector cars, turn some laps on the racing simulators, and spend the morning with a great group of Formula 1 and motoring enthusiasts.
