Kimi Antonelli is on a roll, but now Formula 1 heads to one of the most unpredictable stops on the calendar.
Fresh off his incredible charge from 19th to victory at Monza, Antonelli made it back-to-back wins by taking the inaugural Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid. A perfectly timed Virtual Safety Car helped swing the race his way, allowing Kimi to take the victory ahead of Max Verstappen and Lando Norris and extend his championship lead.
Now the championship heads east to the streets of Baku — a place where just about anything can happen.
The Baku City Circuit is one of F1’s most unique challenges, combining the incredibly tight and technical section through the historic Old City with one of the longest flat-out stretches on the entire calendar. It’s fast, narrow, unforgiving, and has produced more than its share of chaos over the years.
Can Antonelli make it three wins in a row and continue his march toward the championship? Can Verstappen or Norris stop his momentum? Or will Baku deliver another surprise?
We’ll find out bright and VERY early Saturday morning, September 26th, as the Twin Cities Formula 1 Club returns to Fat Pants Brewing Co. in Eden Prairie!
And yes, SATURDAY. The Azerbaijan Grand Prix is being run a day earlier than the traditional F1 schedule this year, so don’t show up Sunday morning wondering where everyone is!
Doors open at 5:30am, with lights out in Baku at 6:00am.
